THE PREMISE - Raider Hunting
A large portion of the local society The Peacekeepers were unfortunately lost to a terrible outbreak of Bad Brain Syndrome at the end of last season. With a large military force now converted to raiders and an armored fortress as their stronghold, this poses a serious threat to everyone in the region. In particular, former General of the Bravado Militia, Hargrave Moss-Iverspiit is now a Lost Survivor, a uniquely deadly kind of raider with abilities beyond what you’ll find even on a Natural Born Raider (Like Avoid).
For those of you in the Blacktide Hunters Network Faction or who attended either of the last two DeathCON Network Events, you might be familiar with hunting trophies. Some raiders this season will carry with them more than scrap or gizmos. They will carry physical trophies that you get to keep and take home with you.
These hunting trophies make great additions to a survivor’s kit and are wonderful conversation starters when sharing stories around the camp fire. We’re sure the Blacktide Hunters would love to hear the stories connected to these hard fought accolades from anyone looking to join or advance in their ranks.
Raider Trophies
There will be three (3) different kinds of trophies to be claimed. Each one can be obtained through a different mode of interaction, some of which will exclusively be available at either an in-person or virtual event.

Peacekeeper Dog Tags
The primary trophy and the one personally taken from the corpse of a raider. Over a dozen raiders this season are designated as “Officer Raiders” many of whom are NPCs from previous seasons who were lost to Bad Brain Syndrome. At least one Officer Raider will be present at every DR:TX event this season, both in-person and virtual.
(If you manage to kill an Officer Raider online and claim the prize, we will send you their Dog Tag in the mail alongside any virtual crafting you completed and potentially other goodies.)
Blacktide Challenge Coins (Brass)
A token of accomplishment from the local Blacktide Hunters, marking an impressive feat. This is a secondary trophy that accompanies are Officer Raiders for those that fight but do not claim the Dog Tag itself. These will be found on non-officer raiders fighting alongside Officer Raiders in Live Events. These will also be given to survivors that go on Officer Hunt Virtual Modules but do not claim the Dog Tags.
(The physical prop of this coin will be mailed to those that earn it alongside any virtual crafting and potentially other goodies!)
Blacktide Challenge Coins (Bone)
A special treat for our Guides & Honored Guests. The Bone Challenge Coin is given to those that have chosen to embody the raider. A consolation as they lose out on any chance of claiming their Dog Tag or a Brass Coin. Anyone attending an in-person DR:TX event may apply below to play an Officer Raider and, in return, receive a Bone Challenge Coin.
Select Virtual Storytellers & other Virtual Staff may also receive this as they run modules or drop-in content involving Officer Raiders and the potential to claim either of the other trophies.
(Understand that embodying one of these threats is a delicate undertaking as you are in charge of portraying a powerful and lethal threat. We will be hand selecting people to play these raiders to craft a unique and engaging experience.)
Early Test Batch of Tokens - Text added in post
A New Kind of Salvage - Tokens
This season we’re going to try something new to improve the play experience of looting raiders, including the skills Salvaging and Give Me Your Kicks. Instead of stocking our raider threats with scrap cards, we will give them painted tokens. These can be turned into the Post Office (at the same event they were received) in exchange for an equivalent amount of scrap.
For right now, these tokens will only apply for Unnamed Scrap (Basic, Uncommon, & Rare). Named Scrap and other items will still be given as written item cards from the raider threat.
Our hope is that this will mean using fewer cards (as you can redeem large collections of tokens onto a single item card) and that threats will more consistently be stocked with their requisite loot, Salvage, and Kicks.
As we utilize this system, we’d love to hear from you how it worked and how it might be improved.
Wrap Up
That’s it for today, Vados.
We hope to have you join us for some Raider Hunting fun this season, either in Bravado (Live) or in Essex (Virtual). Do you think you have what it takes to defeat a highly trained military officer turned raider? Can you pull its Dog Tags from its neck as you finish it off and send it to oblivion?
Let’s find out together! See you soon, Survivors!
