San Saba Socials

San Saba Socials are happenings in Bravado connected to the San Saba Territories various factions. 

They are ZONE OF MECHANICS effects with a 3 Hour Expiration posted at the DR:TX Post Office. These ZOMs cost five (5) Brass Notes or Trade Notes to activate and require Proficient Society Membership in a DR:TX Faction to post.

Only ONE San Saba Social may be posted at a time. Any other San Saba Social purchased will replace this previous one. Overwriting an existing San Saba Social is a CVC action.


DELVING EXPEDITION

Requires Proficient Membership: Railroad Conglomerate to purchase & post.

The RAILROAD CONGLOMERATE invites you on an archaeological expedition. 

  • Any character may spend 30 minutes of Active Roleplay exploring and digging in the WASTELAND. Afterward, return to the post office and expend any amount of BODY POINTS to signify the dangers and hazards you experienced on your expedition. For each 10 Body Points spent in this way, gain a random salvaging or foraging card from the Post Office. The items produced by this card must then be claimed with the use of the appropriate skill and any required expenditures.

  • Characters with RAILROAD CONGLOMERATE membership may expend MIND POINTS in addition to BODY POINTS on their delve. In addition, for each Salvaging or Foraging card drawn from this Zone of Mechanics, characters with RAILROAD CONGLOMERATE membership gain 1 Brass Note.  

  • <Scavenger> or <Avontuur> characters can mangle up to four of their own limbs, for each limb mangled in this way, gain two additional random salvaging or foraging cards from the Post Office.

  • Record these expenditures as “Delving Expedition” on the back of your sheet; a character may not benefit from a Delving Expedition more than once per event.


GRAVE-TAX RELIEF

Requires Proficient Membership: Grave Council to purchase & post.

The GRAVE COUNCIL’s creative accountants are eager to ease the burdens of the dead and grieving. 

  • Character deaths that occur while this Zone Of Mechanics is posted do not incur a GRAVE TAX.

  • Characters with GRAVE COUNCIL membership may:

    • Use Proficient Medical to heal a mangled limb in 1 minute for the cost of 0 mind points, instead gaining the roleplay burden “Pay 1 Brass to the Post Office Before the End Of The 12’s”

    • Use Proficient Necrokinetics without gaining a fracture, instead gaining the
      ROLEPLAY BURDEN: “Pay 5 Brass to the Post Office Before the End Of The 12’s.

    • Failure to fulfill either of these Roleplay Burdens causes the character to gain a Fracture.

  • <Graverobber> or <Grave Attuned> characters can expend 10 Mind Points to exploit this financial environment and collect 10 Brass from the Post Office. Record this expenditure as “Tax Fraud” on the back of your sheet; a character may not benefit from Tax Fraud more than once per event.


THE ADMIRAL’S FINEST

Requires Proficient Membership: Junkerpunks to purchase & post.

The JUNKER PUNKS are sharing their finest grog, spirits, and maybe more from their Masterful Still 

Once per event, characters may pay 2 Brass to the post office to immediately gain one of the following:

  • Cuzzin Shaky’s (Service)

    • Soothe any Fractures you possess for the next 3 hours

  • Portable Planter’s Punch (Item)

    • Gain a “Spicy Hooch” basic Intoxicating Brew with a 3 Month expiration date.

  • Shack-On-The-River (Service) 

    • [Upsurge] Intoxication. Reduce Agriculture & Hunting Time by 5 minutes.  Doesn’t stack with other effects. You are still limited to 30 total Mind spent or 1 hour of farming per trip to the Post Office.

  • Menacing Red (Service)

    • Next melee strike deals 20 damage.

  • Sweeter Georgia (Service):  

    • Immediately regain 5 Body and 5 Mind.

  • Leadschläger Party Trick (Item)

    • Gain a Lead Note. 

Characters with any level of JUNKER PUNKS membership can choose an additional option for free. <Bluejacket> or <Artisanal Cuisiner> characters who drink can spend 10 Mind to pick one of the following:

    • Gizmo - Crafting - 3 Month Expiration

  • Simple Salty Crafting Component

    • Gizmo - Crafting - 3 Month Expiration

OPEN MARKET

Requires Proficient Membership: San Saba Republic to purchase & post.

The SAN SABA REPUBLIC has called a market, drawing newcomers, caravaneers, farmers, and philosophers.

  • Townie, Nomad, Landsmen, or Devoted characters who spend 20 minutes in the area trading or socializing  may regain 5 Mind Points as if they had fulfilled the requirements of their lineage advantage.

  • SAN SABA REPUBLIC members in the area may sell any Unexpired Herb or Produce to the Post Office for 2 Brass each as an open-ended Supply Order, up to 25 Herb per player.

  • When <Entrepreneur> or <Fiscal Mysticist> characters use the Trade Connections skill to exchange “herb-for-scrap”, they may trade an additional 1 herb for scrap (ex. 4 Uncommon Herb may now be traded for 4 Uncommon Scrap by Basic Trade Connections) 


PUBLIC EDUCATION

Requires Proficient Membership: Widows Of The Lonestar to purchase & post.

The WIDOWS have drawn the community together to teach and learn for the good of all. 

  • While this Zone of Mechanics is posted, the Mind Point cost of any Research, Procedure or Zone Of Mechanics Action in play is reduced by 5 to a minimum of 1 Mind.  Furthermore, the time to complete these activities is reduced by 10 minutes to a minimum of 1 minute.

  • Characters with WIDOWS membership may, instead of asking questions on a Research Request may request a detailed DOSSIER from the Widows of The Lonestar on any one single SC, LC, or CC character.  The details contained in this DOSSIER reflect the best information that the Widows and their network of informants have been able to gather on the subject. Dossiers will then be prepared and delivered at the next event. Requesting a dossier of a SC or LC is a CVC action.

  • Once per event, a <Doctrinarian> or <Sage> character who spends 5 Minutes or more explaining the results of their most-recent Basic Research or Research Request to at least 5 other characters in this area may grant their audience [UPSURGE: 10 Mind].


COURT IN SESSION

Requires Proficient Membership: Prudence Penitentiary or law dogs to purchase & post.

The JUSTICES OF SIN have been called to judge the crimes of all present. Pray your penance is light.

  • Characters who spend 5 minutes of full engagement roleplay in this area confessing to any crimes they have committed, contracts they have broken, or failures of personal morality are filled with a sense of absolution. For the next hour, the Mind Cost to use Proficient Social Influence on the character is reduced by 9 to a minimum of 1 and the time required is reduced to 10 minutes.

  • Characters with PRUDENCE PENITENTIARY membership in the area who “interrogate” with Basic Malicious gain a free use of the skill’s tie bindings” function against that same target in the next hour.
    Furthermore, if this Zone of Mechanics is posted during an official Gauntlet at the Bravado Crossroads, a presiding Justice with Society Membership, Prudence Pentiary may expend a Resolve, raise their hand and declare “ORDER IN THE COURT, NO INTERFERE”. As long as the Justice’s hand remains raised, the “interfere” skill may not be used to protect any participant in the Gauntlet.

  • While this Zone Of Mechanics is posted, <Inner Circle> and <Villon> characters in play may expend 1 Mind Point to defend against any use of Basic Malicious, Proficient Mental Endurance, the Achievement function Combat Goggles, or any similar mechanic used to determine or compel truth. Such characters may give a knowing wink, then answer the question however they see fit.


LONG NIGHT FEAST

Requires Proficient Membership: widows of the lone star to purchase & post.

The LOVELACE family invites you to gather in fellowship, and for the safety only community can provide.

  • When eating a meal card that restores body or mind in this area, increase the amount of Body or Mind restored by the meal by 5.  This effect stacks with the Angry Anchor Mess Kit.

  • Characters with LOVELACE membership in play may use Basic Stealth without cover of darkness when they are within arms reach of at-least two other characters. Furthermore, Lovelace members who consume a meal in this area gain, until the end of the 12’s,  a single use of “FAMILY FELLOWSHIP - LONGWALKERS DON’T ATTACK ME”, which you may declare by extending your hand out, palm open. This effect lasts as long as your hand is raised. 

  • Consuming a meal card in this area that restores Body points in the presence of an <Saint> or <Overlord> with whom you share a Faith or Society Membership also grants <UPSURGE: ARMOR> equal to the body points gained from the meal to a maximum of 20 Armor.


A PRAYER FOR JUSTICE

Requires Proficient Membership: Law Dogs to purchase & post.

Breachers and outlaws beware, this area is under the protection of the LAW DOGS

  • Characters in non-Wasteland areas may expend 1 mind to declare “AREA-EFFECT: COMPULSION: DON’T KILL ME” while in bleedout. This is countered by Mental Endurance.

  • Characters with LAW DOG membership in the area may spend spend 5 Mind and 1 Minute encouraging another target with Society Membership: Law Dogs to grant them [UPSURGE: Deal 10 Damage With Your Next Three Strikes] 

<Veteran> and <Inquisitor> characters in play may declare “OUTLAW BANE” with their melee attacks. An OUTLAW is any character with an official “WANTED” poster displayed at the Bravado Post Office.
